Yes, like one gigantic compound curve (big fish). I’ve heard that the tri-tail was a feature desired by TWA when Hughes (yes, that Hughes), owned TWA. Supposedly, it fit into the low hangar doors better (though the top of those stabilizers are plenty high if you’ve ever roamed around one.

Some of the engine iterations were lousy though. Just goes to show that looks can be deceiving.

I am sure when it came out it seemed futuristic, it has nice lines
