During my formative years, my father had a tiedown at Alexandria Field near Pittstown, NJ. There was an airworhty UC-78 there, owned by Bob Boyer.

As a young boy, I thought it was the coolest, and BIGGEST airplane ever. Any big twin that my brother and I saw was, by default, refered to as a "Bamboo Bomber", since that's what we knew and saw when we were at the airport.

As far as I know, it's still airworthy and at N85. There are only like 25 or so of these planes in airworthy condition.
