I was in the yard with my sons yesterday and heard this plane fly by several times. It continued to take off and land repeatedly. I figure that someone was practicing their landing an take offs. I live very close to the airport and drove over to snap some pictures. Any guess of the make of this fine aircraft. You tube link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F--oNoIK5aQ
You ARE aware aren't you that I fly the same pattern and approach speeds as a 400 series twin??
But your flare speed and rollout distance?
By the way what does aircraft age have to do with traffic control? Don't be scaring the kiddies saying that old airplane have to be singled out...
I use 100 mph over the fence and the 195 does not land short....and they know what I am long before that...
Cessna bobcat or UC-78 otherwise known as a useless 78.Bamboo bomber is another nickname.
Pics and a landing “mov” file sent via email.
Yes but that was said with affection...:o)
Cool video, thanks

I have a friend that is building an airplane and I hope to go for a ride once he has finished. He is a computer programmer and has a young family so I imagine his project will take a while to get off the ground.
Building an airplane is a great experience, but it is a much bigger project than most people realize. Many of our neighbors have built planes. The couple we bought our house from built two. My little Skypup ultralight was built over twenty years ago by two WWII pilots who lost their medical certification.
Actually Twin Beeches aren't that expensive ...it is the operating costs...two Pratt and Whitney Wasp Jrs sure suck the 100 LL avgas!!!
I have 6 hours of dual in a C18S on my way to a multi...but the guy who owned the airplane got busted hauling Mary J from Mexico in it and never got it back when the Federalies confiscated it....:o(
Thanks for all of your input on this one. I have learned a lot about this aircraft tonight. So cool to learn from fellow freepers. Good night everyone.

Those same controllers wouldn't know a 195 if I wrote them a book...trust me I have never had a problem and keep my speeds up at larger airports. You might want to advise the whole 195 club roster as we all use Cessna Businessliner on callup because that is what we are flying...it isn't my problem if the controller doesn't know a 195 from a Spruce Goose....but you miss the point...there is no practical funtional difference between my airplane and a Cessna 400 Businessliner as far as traffic control goes...so there is no reason to go into a War and Peace explanation to a controller trainee...
I converted the file to an avi file and sent it again. sorry for the bad aim on my part, I was getting it on a regular digital camera and couldn’t see the led screen due to the sunlight. Best regards.

Our neighbors at the end of the runway have a 195. It is an absolutely gorgeous plane. I have to admit to being envious every time they take it out.
