“With all due respect to Rush, he has lost those same pounds at least a half dozen times. Losing them is the easy part. Almost any diet works. Following a lifetime modification in ones eating habits is far more difficult. Very few lose the pounds and keep them off.”
I think one of the key components is going beyond modifying your eating. I used to be overweight but rather than moan about it like many in our country of fatties I went out and changed things. It wasn’t diet that kept the weight off it was exercise. I weigh less now than I did at 18 and have run several marathons and half marathons. Thanks to the work I put in I can eat all day long too and never fear gaining an ounce!
Good for you. I’m 70 and have never been more than about 15 to 20 lbs overweight, but about ten years ago I got serious. Worked myself down to a flat belly and have stayed that way by always watching what I eat and lots of physical activity.
My wife has worked out everyday I have known her and has never varied from a size 2 in the forty something years we’ve been married.
