WILKES-BARRE TWP. Township police have arrested three people and area looking for two more in the alleged torture of a man and woman earlier this month.
It was unclear what the motive was, but one of the defendants being sought told police that she took $200 from one of the victims for payback for taking her money and leaving her stranded during a trip in New Jersey.
Michael J. Sisko, 24, of Wilkes-Barre Township, Jason Farrell, 19, of Wilkes-Barre, and Lindsey N. Stephens, 18, of Wilkes-Barre, were arraigned Tuesday on 16 counts of robbery and multiple counts of simple assault, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and theft, court records show.
Farrell and Stephens were also charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats. The three were jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $15,000 bail. Preliminary hearings have been tentatively scheduled for Aug. 26.
Township police allege Sisko, Farrell and Stephens and two other women held a woman against her will, threatened to stab her, cut out her tongue, skin her and then burn her body on Aug. 3 and 4.
The female victims name has been withheld pending additional charges against one or two men.
Charges also have been filed against Autumn L. Ashford, 22, of Wilkes-Barre Township, and Jacqueline Renee Frank, 21, of Wilkes-Barre. There are outstanding warrants for their arrest, according to a police.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Aug. 3, Stephens called the female victim, asking if she would like to trade a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey for four OxyContin pills at Siskos residence at 304 Center St.
The victim agreed and walked to the liquor store on South Main Street in Wilkes-Barre with a man whom police identified as the second victim and bought a bottle of whiskey.
The two then went to the Center Street residence, where they were met by Farrell, Sisko, Stephens and a man known only as Andrew.
Both victims walked to a bedroom, where they were assaulted by Ashford and Frank. Ashford took the female victims cell phone and smashed it to prevent her from using it. The pair began to repeatedly punch and kick the female victim, according to the criminal complaint.
Frank picked up the whiskey bottle and struck the male victim with it. The female victims personal belongings, including prescriptions to treat asthma, were taken.
Stephens forced the female victim to remove her clothing while being assaulted. Farrell used a pocket knife to remove her clothes and jewelry, according to the criminal complaint.
Police said the male victim was forced to hand over $300 cash and his wallet. The female was forced to lick saliva from the floor and to perform military-style jumping jacks. Degrading words and phrases were written in marker all over her body.
During the assault, the female victim was told that she would be skinned and her body burned in a fire by Farrell, who was holding a knife against her, and Stephens, who also threatened to stab her and cut her tongue out, according to the criminal complaint.
The torture took place for nearly four hours until the female victim faked an asthma attack to gain sympathy. She was able to escape and sought help at a neighbors home just before 2 a.m. Aug. 4.
Police responded to the reported assault at the home but were unable to locate the male victim, who was being beaten with a 2-by-4 in a shed behind the property, according to the criminal complaint.
Farrell put a knife to the male victims neck and ordered him to walk over to a neighbors backyard and lie on the ground and stay silent or hed kill him by cutting his throat. When officers left, Farrell told the victim to stay on the ground for 20 minutes.
The man waited and then walked to police headquarters, where he was then taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. The female victim was treated at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
At police headquarters on Aug. 5, Ashford told police in an interview that she was stranded by the two victims in New Jersey just three days before. Ashford, who was upset by this, admitted that Stephens had no intentions of making the drug trade but was using the transaction as a ruse to lure the two victims.
Police also are seeking information of the male known as Andrew. Anyone with information is asked to contact Wilkes-Barre Township police at 208-4635, ext. 870 or 874.
Ok and the lesson is? I’m not even sure.

Somehow, I’m guessing these aren’t college professors.
Obama voters all.
“Ok and the lesson is?”
Incest has unnatural consequences?
Kids will be kids... oh the wacky youths of today.
Listen, I’m not even trying to be a smarta$$ I’m just wondering, what lesson besides dont be an idiot could I give my kids both over 20.
Also, in addition to the dummie-smog, they get nervous and jumpy everytime a house slides into the flaming abyss, before the meat is grilled. This city should be the capital of Obamastan.
Looking at the bright side, at least a couple of these youngsters knew where New Jersey was.
As I read this I couldn’t help myself from humming ‘dueling banjos’.
Oh, and drugs and alcohol can make people do stupid things.

well thats obvious, but there has to be a deeper meaning /s
> Ok and the lesson is? Im not even sure.
(shrugs) Dunno... a working knowledge of Krav Maga or CQB can sometimes come in handy if you’re being forced to do naked jumping jacks by a knife-wielding felon?
It’s an odd story to be sure...
How about, “There is no reason to ever go to New Jersey, period.”
Ok I’ll bite. Krav Maga?
> Ok Ill bite. Krav Maga?
The Israeli military form of hand-to-hand combat. Extremely effective at close quarters, even against multiple attackers or against an armed attacker. It is a form of combat, as opposed to a martial art.
“CQB” stands for “Close Quarters Battle”, which is a hand-to-hand combat method with roots back to the Fairbairn Method and the Applegate Method. It has many similarities to Krav Maga.
All of these find their origins around WW-II and thereafter.
Basic lesson here is stay away from dumb-asses.
Pretty simple.
(grin!) Impossible to argue against that.
Simply and succinctly put.
