I have a problem with deer eating my peach tree. Since shooting them is not an option can anyone suggest a method to get rid of them. I'd just as soon shoot them but can't due to the game laws.
Be sure to put slices of peach on the wire. Apple slices with a little peanut butter on the wire also work but since you have a peach tree, you probably want to have the unpleasant sensation associated with peaches.
That they do. Especially with sharp Cheddar cheese and a pint of Leinenkugel’s Honey Weiss.
I have no intention of doing either.
Moth balls!
Deer eat everyone’s shrubs in our neighborhood but ours. We just throw moth balls in there every now and then.
Our neighbors didn’t believe me until I proved it to them. Don’t ask me why but it worked for us.
They were still green, but the branches were heavy.
.I have a long driveway, and the UPS guys usually back down the driveway after delivery, or pull up further and turn.
But NO.......
The new guy delivers the package, and does a three point turn, backing up right over my peach tree.

You could knock off a deer and perhaps get away with it. I doubt you could do the same with the UPS man.

turns out he is a nice guy, apoligised profusely. He is very careful now.
A moat filled with hungry alligators would be awesome!!
I have 5 deer that come in my yard at night...I like watching them...the pie pans really work.

maybe your local garden center (Agway) has predator urine spray...I had a deer problem in Mass. with blueberry bushes,(300) used coyote spray....didn't’ work much, but I did get some coyotes... the deer problem slowed down for a bit....then because it was Mass, had to throw rocks at them, it got to be a sport.....
Other items to try: Ivory Soap, Human hair, pet hair, noise, pie plates, security sensor lighting.....
.I use it for my horses to protect the trees in their paddock. Also, use it to keep the cats out of the planters, and the dogs out of the garden.
you can get an industrial size that goes for 10 miles, or a smaller one for a few miles.
.Simply string up wire around the tree with insulators or wooden poles, and run the wire through drip irrigation tubing for insulation to the generator, and plug it in. It works 24/7, and is absolutely fail safe.
The generators are at feed stores, or a smaller version from online or petshops for "dog work".
A few ideas in no particular order (are you located inside city limits?):
1. Dog
2. Bow/Crossbow (if hunting is legal)
3. paintball gun
4. make some habanero tea by boiling fresh peppers, then spraying the liquid on the branches the deer can reach (will flavor the fruit it comes in contact with, but shouldn’t hurt the tree). Must be reapplied regularly.
5. If outside city limits, check with the game warden in your area - some states allow for depredation permits to take out deer doing damage to property.
I live in an area so thick with deer I see them in my yard several times a day but I was determined to have a garden. I tried several methods with no luck, until I put up this mesh around my garden with posts. I never had another problem after that and so far it has lasted 7 years. I used 6 foot posts and this is tall enough to fold at the bottom and stake it to the ground. It’s similar to bird netting but thicker plastic. I bought it from Home Depot but I’ve also seen it at other types of garden centers.
It is cheap, very strong, easy to put up with posts and cable ties and almost invisible from a distance - it felt like I found a miracle :-)

It may be hard to believe but it is true. Granted this is not fruit growing country but I like the tree. It is about twelve years old and I never got many peaches from it. Not the point.
