News that the White House is ready to abandon the "public option" has the 'rats and the DUmp depressed and desperate. In fact, I think a few of them need some "end of life counseling"...

“Henry Waxman to a rodent, Im telling you, he looks like a mouse”
Waxman and Axelrod look a little like brothers. Misbegotten twins, resultant spawn of an unfortunate union between a rodent on steroids and a mastedon. (I don’t mean that in a bad way, though.)

I hope Hillary runs against Obama.
I'm surprised Hillary hasn't completely lost her mind by now. First, she loses the primary when she was considered a "lock" in an election year in which the democratic candidate was indeed a lock. Then Obama passes on her as VP. Then Obama removes her from being able to oppose him on anything by making her SOS; however, other than a name tag with "Secretary of State" on it, her job is meaningless.
Obama has put her out to pasture, while having others do the "heavy lifting" that would normally be done by the SOS. While there are "hot spots" all over the globe where she could be doing something, Hillary is reduced to doing 2-week tours of poor African nations, subjected to taking questions from students on what she thinks her husband would do.
If she snapped that badly in public, I can't imagine what she must be like in private. It's obvious her life is a living hell right now and I'm not sure how much more of it she can or will take.
The brilliance of Obama's move making her SOS then sending her on fools errands, is that she gave up her Senate seat to get the SOS job. If she quits now, she will have NO power and NO title. She doesn't have any power now, but she does have a title. If she were to quit, then neither Clinton would be a government official for the first time since when? I guess since Bill lost the governorship in Arkansas before getting it back.
When she took Obama's offer she probably thought "Hey, I'm going to be SOS! That's a lot better than being just a Senator!" Now, however, she is trapped. I'll bet she would give a million dollars to be back in the Senate and not glued to the bottom of Obama's shoe like an old, dirty, used up piece of gum.
She is so screwed, and she knows it, and it is driving the wicked witch mad.

I’d like to volunteer to provide some of that counselling.

Just my 2 cents: Don’t count this guy and his socialist plans for health care out, not by a long shot. As Rush and many others have said, part of the playbook is incrementalism: just take a slice at a time. What’s more, we’ve all learned by now that with the lousy bunch in Congress and the various special interests, these people have a hundred ways to deceive and can slip the same crappy schemes into legislation in the middle of the night along with all their earmarks and other theft from the taxpayers.
In short VIGILANCE, VIGILANCE, VIGILANCE. I pray that the “sleeping giant” doesn’t fall right back to sleep.

If [Hillary] quits now, she will have NO power and NO title. She doesn't have any power now, but she does have a title. But, there is another attractive alternative for her, as I suggested on a thread a coupla days ago.
If she goes postal & quits in a rage (& she sure seems like she's gonna blow any minute here), she could always make a deal with her good friend Rupert Murdoch, snag herself a sweet primetime FNC gig and start screaming into her microphone every night of the week: "Show us your long-form birth certificate now, Obama!"
LOL!She'd have a lot more power following Greta than she does shuttling back & forth between Inner & Outer Mongolia as Obama has her doing now.
It'd soooo be worth it to see that woman exact some classic Clintonian revenge upon POTUS too for all the humiliation he's heaped upon her by stripping her office as SoS completely of power & prestige, provided it's Shep that Murdoch axes to make room for her. ;-)

If and when we win this battle against government health care, we need to continue to press our advantage and stay on the offensive!
There is massive waste in the current government system (Medicare/Medicaid)
There is a need for tort reform! Tort lawyers own the majority of all politicians in DC!
We need to allow health insurance to be purchased across state lines, just like car insurance (see how much that dropped!)
We need to allow the FDA to permit drugs to be purchased across the border (Canadian drugs are cheaper) as long as they are safe.
And last but not least - TERM LIMITS!

That was Truman, and he’d spit on today’s Democrat Party. Even my parents, lifelong conservatives, thought Truman was okay, for a d*mndemocrat. They hated FDR and thought he waa a communist.
My Father, also very conservative career Army officer, loved Truman.

What happened to the momentum? The hope and change we could believe in? It evaporated because you idiots elected a scam artist who only sees the presidency as a really cool way to travel everywhere he wants, along with his freeloading family, all at taxpayer expense.

OMG. They sound like Freepers.
Their problem, though, is that although they're upset with the health care bill, they're still under the deluded impression that if only the government could become ALL POWERFUL, it would be able to solve all the problems.
Most of us believe that the more government gets involved, the less efficient and the less effective health care becomes.
