Both sides are wrong. She should not be blaming the hotel and they should not be blaming her. As long as there is evil in the world there will be rapists who will find a way to do their deeds.

The best defense against rape is awareness of your surroundings. I see women every day in parking lots walking too close to cars, talking on their cell phones, waiting to get right to their cars before digging for their keys. Cameras won’t protect you. Cops won’t get there in time. And even a gun is useless if you don’t see the guy coming.

I’m not blaming the victim for the rape. I’m blaming society for making her think that it’s the hotel’s fault just because it has deep pockets.

I disagree. The woman is wrong. The Hotel is defending it’s self from an unwarranted attack.

I don’t know the woman’s background but no one should expect to be safe in a hotel parking garage unless you are paying $1000 a night for a hotel with securty. Even then you better keep an eye on the guards.
