I believe Mr Mackey is a fiscal Libertarian rather than the hippy social liberal that is quite common in Austin.
Yes Mackey was a hippie when he opened his first store on North Lamar in Austin but he’s since become an out and out, self confessed Libertarian. This isn’t the first time he’s pointed out the dangers of big government.
