Not at all. Assuming we are all like minded people on this forum, why would someone make light of a fellow Freeper’s question. As conservatives, we get enough crap from other people who are not so like minded. Is it really necessary to make fun of a someones question. I mean really, if it is so silly why would you bother responding to it. I was always taught that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

Really, what is so amusing about my posting?

I never said I was amused. And I don’t assume we’re all like minded.

If your feelings are hurt by what I’ve posted to you, your too thin skinned to last long here.

Never assume we are all “like minded”. The predominant political philosophy on this site is conservatism. The shades of conservatism represented by the people on this site are myriad.

Sarcasm, acidic wit, and playful joshing are de rigeur here. The comment about the “hugh and series” vanity (self-written, not posted from a new source) questions reflects the longstanding bias against such posting. They are tolerated, and sometimes can be very informative. But they are not the bread-and-butter, so to speak, of the site or the posters hereon.

In between the tongue-in-cheek and sometimes more darkly presented humor one will find a wealth of information from a community more diverse than is generally understood. The factual knowledge base held by Freepers is phenominal - although one should alwys “Trust, but verify” for oneself.

One last thought: If you have to ask “what is so amusing about my posting” when someone snickers, perhaps you might need to reflect on why that snickering matters to you. Especially on a sarcasm-heavy board such as FreeRepublic.
