The season's final major is here!!! The PGA comes back to Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, MN where 156 players get a crack at glory's last shot and try to walk away with the Wannamaker Trophy. Last time we were here, in 2002, little known and unheralded Rich Beem held off Tiger Woods for what is still regarded as one of the biggest suprises in major championship history. This time around Hazeltine will show off the longest course ever in history, playing at 7,674 yards at par of 72.
3 of the 4 par 5's on the course, numbers 3, 11 and 15 will play at 633, 606, and 642 yards with number 7 playing at a "short" 572 yards.
Hole 14 plays as a short, 352 yard par 4 and the hole may be shortened to 318 yards to entice players to go for the green.
So lat's have at it boys and girls. Does Tiger win #15 this week and his 3rd event in a row, or can we expect another of the many6 world class players, like Masters' champ Angel Cabrera, US Open Champ Lucas Glover, or Open Champ Stewart Cink Or another to have something to say about it....
Another one I see........sigh!!
still a tight match...
what’s for dinner?
Congratulations to Y.E. Yang!
TIGER SHOOTS 75 IN THE FINAL ROUND???????
Does that qualify as breaking news????
Y. E. played like a mother today went out and took the win from Tiger fair and square. He is a most worthy and deserved winner!!!
Maybe we’ll have some Korean for supper tonight......
tag change
Congratulations, indeed!!!!!
The chip in on 14 now is in the major championship video highlight vault forever, just like Tiger’s 16th hole miracle at Augusta, his 72nd hole birdie at Torrey Pines and Padraig’s putt last year......
Speaking of Padraig, 78?? WOW!!! Stewart Cink with 81?????huh???
Yang earned it...stuck tight with Tiger on every hole.
Tiger couldn’t buy a putt today and that’s the way it goes...
Wonder what this will do for golf in Asia....
It's hard to recover from a quintuple bogey (the dreaded snowman, I usually have a couple of my scorecard!).
Yang was at 200-1 odds to win. Even a $20 flyer would of netted 4 grand!!!!
I can’t believe Padraig visited the drink again from the greenside rough!!!
At one point on Friday, Y.E. was at +5 and in danger of missing the cut. He ended the day at -1. Yep I think golf in Asia just took off exponentially!!!!
