Nope, I was wrong. I found this on CNN's blog website:
"As all you Twitter addicts out there probably know, the service has been down since earlier this morning. Turns out it’s not just a technical glitch — somebody’s apparently targeting the site.
"From status.twitter.com: "We are defending against a denial-of-service attack, and will update status again shortly.
"By the way, some Facebook folks are also reporting problems logging on/navigating around. We’ll bring you more on all this as it develops.

Buzz up! 0 Print.NEW YORK (AP) — Twitter is down. For users of the short messaging site, this means no tweeting about lunch plans, the weather or the fact that Twitter is down.
The company says in its status blog Thursday morning it is determining the cause and will provide an update shortly.
The status blog lets users know about planned outages and other issues on Twitter. This outage was not planned.
It’s not clear when the outage began, but it appears to have started midmorning Eastern time.
