A 9mm is small and does not have real stopping power.

Oh brother, not this again. So would you be willing to take a couple 9's to center mass to demonstrate its lack of stopping power?

A miss with a .45 is no more effective than a miss with 9mm. IMO training and practice are more important than caliber.

Touche. You are correct about the misses and the training.

I know the Florida Highway Patrol is taught to double tap with the Beretta 92F because of the small caliber.

While a 9mm should stop someone if you hit center of mass, the way training will teach you, I still believe that a .45 will do the damage much better than a 9mm.

Btw, I have a 9mm, and I love it. I also have 3 .45’s and a .40.:)

My instructor said use hollow points and the above argument is mute. So i hollow points. Somehow i think if you shoot someone in the face they are stopped. I'm just saying.

AMEN!!! I am SO sick of hearing that B.S.!! I’ve been selling guns six days a week for thirteen years.A 147gr. h.p such as the win. silvertip or pmc starfire, etc, WILL put VERY large holes in whatever it hits.As you said,A WELL PLACED 9mm will do the job VERY efficiently.GRANTED it is not a .45, but damn near every country in the WORLD uses it as their standard sidearm caliber. That alone should tell them something.Ballistically speaking, a 9mm is superior to the .38 spl., but MOST consider the .38 perfectly fine for protection.
