I guess I'm old school, but I never liked the F1 move to refueling - too CART/Indycar-like. As far as overtaking . . . I could be wrong (and usually am), but I think all the track changes to help overtaking (chicanes and whatnot) actually help to decrease the chances of overtaking.
I play RACE ON with the F3000 and Formula Master cars and I can tell you it is very hard to overtake someone on circuits similar to, say, Kyalami or Monaco. But Monza-type circuits, or the old, loooong, Hockenheim, with their long straights and sweeping corners, prove much easier to pass someone and are actually more fun to run.
Ecclestone is nuts.

with hose nozzles having problems connecting or getting stuck/ripped off and the resultant chance of fire, i guess i can live with that because again the car will get lighter and faster through out the race
as for chicanes, i hate the damn things. we had them here going up the hill a few years and it ruined the flow and rhythm of the track so they took them out
then... some third rate driver in used/borrowed third rate equipment gets himself killed and they blame it on the track and put the bus stop in.
