Oh Doctor
Interesting cars — if you want to watch street cars go FAST AS HELL it happens once a year in Idaho.
A 3.2 mile stretch of the Sawtooth Highway has NO Speed Limits once day of the year:

A few years old story about the event:

As an aside a few years ago I saw a Bugatti Veyron in town one day heading towards the campus...I thought ‘Man! is that a Bugatti???’
It sure was...It was early in the week following the Sun Valley Tour de Force...(I live in Montana).
330,mph- 5 minutes after filling it up, out of gas lol
Friend had inherited a lot,of money and he bought an original ac cobra engine, and a kit assembly for the body. He finished the project right around graduation - I never did get a ride in it, but it was pretty wicked to look at and wa4ch the build of it.
Shelby sold his own personal ac cobra not long ago at a mecum auction- he got $5.94 mil for it

Was drooling watching the auction.
One of my racing games has the ac cobra to,choose from. If it is anything close to the real deal, all I can say is wow, what a beast to handle- very slippery driving with its lightness and power, but a ton of fun when you get the power under control. Thr games are as close as I’ll ever get to driving them, which is probably a good thing considering how many times I wiped out in the game trying to control the power around corners lol
I totally understand...
Loved My racecar days.
Probably gone but not forgotten!
good stuff...
Thrills become as cheap as gas. And gas as cheap as thrills...
I might have to head over there to watch one year...
It’s only a 92.5 gallon round trip in our RV! (though I do not think I would enter it in the festivities...)
be fun to watch...
September 1963 London Airport: Nineteen racing cars await loading at the airport on to a cargo plane to take them to America to compete in the Watkins Glen Grand Prix.
Formula Fords ???
F1
Great photo!
Interesting ‘56 Lotus for sale:

Person could have a lot of fun this...
The 110-lap race was won by BRM driver Graham Hill after he started from pole position. His teammate Richie Ginther finished second and Lotus driver Jim Clark came in third.
That’s cool. I just re-read the original James Bond books and seeing a BOAC aircraft puts a real-life picture to the images in my head while reading the stories. Even if it is only a cargo service plane.
I flew on one of those DC6s years ago. Los Angeles to Miami. 11 hours on the back of a Harley at full throttle would be similar. The flight probably loosened every fastener on those cars.
