Katie Holmes seconds from disaster as car bursts into flames on film set
Nathan Kay 27th July 2009
Katie Holmes was left shaken after a car she had been sat in on a film set caught fire seconds after she got out of it.
The 30-year-old actress narrowly escaped disaster over the weekend while filming in Australia for her new horror flick Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark.
She has been left 'shaken' after the car battery began erupting sparks and fumes and then burst into fire moments after she vacated the vehicle.

***Glad shes safe. I hope the film is a success.***
Glad she is safe, could care less about the film.
Yes - but you aren't a big star (read special). You are just normal. Don't you know that anything that happens to them is a gazillion times worse for them than if it happens to you?
I feel sorry for Katie as Tom will now wrap her in bubble wrap to keep her safe and sound.
Ha... If I have this right, scientology believes all bad things happen because of the remnants of an evil space aliens spirit who crashed on Earth. Can't remember his name, but supposedly when you have read $200,000 worth of books and reach the highest level, you learn this big secret. Only a sci-fi writer could dream up something that crazy.
i agree with you and to think Katie was raised CATHOLIC - do you think she believes this Scientology malarkey?
I think she is head-over-heels in love with Tom Cruise and would pretend to like football, baseball, NASCAR, or scientology if it kept peace in the house :) At least I hope so. I know I read somewhere her family has been very concerned about her, probably a bloid headline at the supermarket though.
It was the blessed Ron, back from the dead and dressed in an angel costume, what snatched her out of the car in time.
just a little digression from the Katie Holmes thing,tho...just finished reading on some of Henry Gates intellectual ties along with other profs @ Harvard Law and all the intellectual black radicals he associates with along with the Obeyme’s ties to Harvard Law radicals namely one Ogletree(?) quite enlightning- takes you down the road of now you know why moment of Holder’s dismissal of the the BP’s
Thanks, hadn’t seen that.
Did anyone notice the death grip Oprah’s got on that couch arm? Man you’d think it was a piece of the best fried chicken in the world. (Yes black people eat fried chicken, it’s true.)
From the outside looking in, Scientology looks like a Ponzi scheme dressed up as a religion.
That’s exactly what it is, except it’s worse. If you decide you want out, you might lose more than your money, it’s even possible you might lose your life (shades of the Mafia).
Furthermore, Scientologists obviously do not teach morals. I was once in a number of major business dealings over quite a few years with someone very deep into Scientology. After many successful deals, he swindled me for a lot of money. I sued him under RICO laws and had the goods on him, so he put a contract out on me. Obviously I survived, but just ... through the Grace of God. True story.
