Jul 23 RadioShack Partners With Lance to Form New Cycling Team in 2010 RadioShack Corporation is proud to announce a partnership with seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong to form a new American Pro-Tour cycling team. Beginning in 2010, Lance Armstrong will compete for Team RadioShack as a cyclist, runner and triathlete in events around the world, including the 2010 Tour de France. This has been a great season so far the response in the countries weve been to has been amazing and its clear now that this was the right choice. Utilizing the massive media attention that the sport receives has been the perfect vehicle to help spread the LIVESTRONG message around the world, said Lance Armstrong. To be able to compete for an American team comprised of the worlds top cyclists, supported by the best coaches and staff I couldnt be happier to partner with RadioShack, a truly iconic American brand, said Lance Armstrong. Thanks Mr Blonde.
Mr Blonde graciously posted the announced Radio Shack team in post #158.
If there are no objections, I’ll be glad to start off each day with a post w/ the course, profile, and mountain graphics as in prior years.
The ongoing live thread last year worked better than I thought it would at first (after, the... ahem... detours, lol), so I would suggest one live thread rather than a new one each day.
Thanks Mr Blonde, guess ah orter ping everyone.

Sounds like a plan to me.
I have my rah rah Lance voice ready to go. As someone else posted earlier, if not Lance I am hoping for one of the Shleck’s. Although a breakthrough year for Levi would not be unwelcome if Lance finally succumbs to age.
I’m glad Chris is on the team!
Too bad Hincap[ie can’t be...

Could we please start a new thread??? Thank you very much!
I am not up to speed with the whole RS team yet, but I'm thrilled to see Chris Horner and Levi riding together.
I'm not either but I'm thrilled as well! And I see lots of mountain stages, especially the Pyrenees.
Looking forward to the TdF and the FR thread (note singular).
;-)
Should be interesting. Can’t wait for the action to start.
How do you think Lance will do if he rides?
Thanks for the ping, Baynative. BTTT!
Wait, not so fast, Buster. Didn’t FlatulentAtty already volunteer to run the ping list this year? We wouldn’t want to step on any toes, especially ones which might create a malodorous disturbance when they get squished, IYKWIMAITYD.
But put me down for a yea vote on the single thread too. You’ll ping us to the daily stages so we can zip right to ‘em, right?
Oh and BTW, are you gonna be asking your crackerjack secretarial & administrative support staff to help out posting the stats & maps & stage profiles under your screen name every day too, R4F? ;-)
I’m pretty sure making a profit is not part of RS business plan, how could it be when they open hundreds of new stores a year that nobody goes into unless they need a weird battery for their car key fob?
Tourmalet twice? I like!!
Versus (OLN) has a high-def channel, man, I’m looking forward to seeing that!

Is Lance Armstrong on the same team as last year, where they had 2 top contenders on the same team, and Lance was relegated into a support role for his winning teammate?
I believe that may have cost Lance the opportunity to win, because he did not want to seem selfish, by outgunning his teammate?
That was a big mistake if you ask me!
I know Lance is on a new team, what I meant by my earlier question, is he on a team with another top contender the same as last year’s team.
Will he go for another win or will he engineer a team win and/or another teammates’ Tour win?
Will have to wait and see what Lance in thinking because I don’t believe he going to tell anyone ahead of time. ;)
No - the Radio Shack team is built around Lance, just like the old US Postal and Discovery teams were. Plenty of other good riders, but they’re riding to support Lance.
