The Sapphire Princess is not little whalewatch boat, this thing looks like a Panamax size crusie ship. They use a bulbous bow, it looks like the whahle is riding atop the bulb, so drag wouldn't be significantly increased, and it would be very hard to see from anywhere on board. Also, it wouldn't significantly change the wake the ship threw.

Plus if it's stuck on there what are you going to do about it in the middle of the ocean?? There's no way it's coming off until they can get some heavy equipment to pull it off.
