The Sapphire Princess is not little whalewatch boat, this thing looks like a Panamax size crusie ship. They use a bulbous bow, it looks like the whahle is riding atop the bulb, so drag wouldn't be significantly increased, and it would be very hard to see from anywhere on board. Also, it wouldn't significantly change the wake the ship threw.

Look at post 11, relative to the size of this boat, this thing was nothing... might have added some drag, but that’s about it.
