Just tried the select and ctrlP bit with your post.
On the SECOND try only will the selection option in the print window show up.
That’s persistently true.

I have never seen what you describe, it works every time for me.
I have Firefox 3.0.12, is that what you have?

I should amend my comment-the select/print never works from within an edit box (where I’m typing right now). Everywhere else it works consistently for me.
