*The sound of Fallout fans scrambling to copyright “Rad Away” and “Rad-X*
This is the first treatment for radiation damage. But not too long ago, someone developed an radiation protection prophylaxis. It was a nano-container, small enough to penetrate the cell wall. Inside it was BHA and BHT, the common preservatives.
This means that a person would somehow absorb enough of these nano-containers for at least one of them to penetrate every living cell in their body. Then when the ionizing radiation caused the creation of free radicals in their cells, the BHA and BHT would neutralize it.
This is total BS.
The damage inflicted on cells by radiation is, to a first approximation, “mechanical” damage. That’s a bit of oversimplification, but not so much.
It’s nothing but a scam. Anyone who buys this stuff thinking it’ll do them any good is a fool.
Are we going to need this? hmmmm...
At first reading, I have a lot of questions/reservations about this drug, and the article does not address any of them. I am, however, too tired to discuss it coherently, and so am posting for a placeholder to remind me tomorrow.
