Buerhle was in command the whole game other than that and a couple of near miss fould down the left field line. Three batters took him to 3 balls but he wouldn’t give them the fourth.

Managing those events is part of pitching the perfect game. Buerhle deserves his place in history. I know nothing about his career but wish him the best.

Buerhle is one of the best Left handers in the game, very dependable and durable who gives you 200+ innings of quality starts every yr, rarely leaves a game before the 7th inning. He has been an All Star multiple times, pitched one other no-hitter and a shutout in the World Series. He has been the anchor of the Sox staff for the last five yrs or so.

Plus, he is a great teammate and helps keep the clubhouse relaxed and ready to play.
