He had to to attend the muslim school. You must be an Indonesian citizen to go to school there.

And this is based on what?

He was adopted by his Indonesian muslim stepfather Mr. Sotero. Indonesia did not allow dual citizenship.

Even if the adoption stories are true, if Obama was born in Hawaii then his U.S. citizenship is a birthright that only he can give up. His parents cannot give it up on his behalf. He cannot be stripped of it by any act of a foreign government. Only Obama could give up his citizenship, and only when he was legally able to do so - when he was an adult.

Another problem is that based on Indonesian law in place at the time, only children under the age of 5 automatically gained citizenship upon adoption. Older than that they had to be naturalized when they reached adulthood. Obama was 5 or 6 when he moved to Indonesia.

As an Indonesian.

Highly doubtful if not impossible.

He was 4. Indonesian law. You say “if” born in Hawaii. I say where is his birth certificate? It costs 12 dollars to get a copy. Why will he not release it and end the argument? A certification of live birth is not a birth certificate. The birth certificate has the hospital Dr. name time. Parents. Location...City State...COUNTRY! I am trying to find out what was required for a COLB such as the one he produced but no luck yet. I will have to do more research. Do you know? Also citizenship is not the requirement. One must be a natural born citizen.

It’s been suggested Soetoro was actually Malaysian, and he went to Indonesia because the military there desperately needed geologists. The whole “family” might have been naturalized at the same time when the Malaysian Soetoro joined the Indonesia military.
