I’d say that it might work the first few times maybe, when people see thats its others just like them that are being raped by govt mandated thugs then this country will turn into a free-fire zone and its open season on brownshirts with no size restrictions or bag limits. The spirit of George Washington still lives in a good portion of the 80 million gun owners in this country.

I love my Saiga. I think it would take down Zombies.
And Gunsamerica.com has some saiga 12’s, same model, cheaper.

LOL, freeper minds think alike - see my #9.
You need a rifle of some kind.
I concur, 100%. Even a lever-action will do, if one has an aversion to the "black" rifles.
There's an extensive thread on this scope over at arfcom, if you'd like to know more.

Dillon Aero has some lovely pieces.
Home defense is always a shotgun. Take a look at what you want to spend and see what you can afford and how much ammo costs in your area.
SHTF is another story. I would keep a rifle capable of longrange targeting chambered in a popular form of ammo. a newer, HBAR variant of an AR15 in 5.56 or maybe something in a 30.06 or 308 like an M1A or M14. They will cost about $1000 and up depending on quality.
No matter what anyone says about platforms and calibers, a weapon is useless if you can't get ammo.
I humbly suggest a Remington model 700 SPS in .308 cal.
Yes,2 tone, but not stainless!
Let us pray that you are right and truth , justice, amd the american way triumph.

I’m still looking and checking. Kinda of want a long rifle with a magazine instead of bolt action, and a nice scope on it for a sure shot long shot. Thinking about the Remington 870 as the shotgun choice.
Just got a new shotgun. Remington Model 870 Tactical Desert Recon 12 Gauge 20”, Olive Drab Powder Coat Finish, Speedfeed IV Pistol Grip Stock, Desert Camo Finish
Nice!
Look at Savage rifles. Inexpensive and accurate. Best out-of-the-box rifle out there. Don’t by the “combo”, put a good scope on it. Choose .308 for availability.
I will look. That will be my next purchase I think. Thanks for the advice.
Good choice. Did it come with the different chokes? My Wingmaster has served me well.
5.56mm
Ended up getting a 25-06. Ammo easier to get than a 30-06. Sorry it took me so long to reply. LOL
