Question: Can people register for a social security number using an alias or someone else's name?

Some of those records are quite suspect, especially the ones registered in 2008, around election time. Someone could have changed their name to "Barack Obama" and registered it because they wanted the same name as "someone famous."

However, the ones that appear to be legitimate are the ones "verified" in the 1980's when Obama was a nobody. I could only find two of those, and they seem to be the same, except for the address:

Name - OBAMA, BARACK H
Gender - Male
Street Address - 5324 S KIMBARK AVE
City, State, Zip - CHICAGO IL 60615-5287
Probable Current Address - No
Telephone -
Telephone Accountholder -
Social Security - 042-68-xxxx
Age - 47
Date of Birth - Aug 04, 1961
Deceased - No
Date Record Verified - Jun 88 - Dec 90

How about looking for records under the name "Barry Soetero"? That could probably yield some interesting results.

LOL! 'Barry Soetoro' turns up three listings for the whole country, and all three are his half-sister.

Jess, if I’m not mistaken, those are the entries that have the SSN sequence as issued in Connecticut.
