I could give a rat’s ass about the peace symbol.

However, whenever a smelly hippy flashes the VICTORY sign, as immortalized by Winston Churchill, and claims it as a “peace sign”, I get very, very angry.

That’s a valid complaint. The liberals seem to have a pattern of taking something of historical significance, and twisting its meaning. (or changing it)

When a peacnik gives me the two fingered peace sign, my comeback is “Yeah, V for Victory”. That usually upsets them to the point, that they then give me a one fingered salute. I then explain to them that it isn’t necessary to share their IQ with us. That really makes them so mad, while flustering them to the point that they don’t know what to do.

A couple of years ago my pre-school aged daughter had picked up "Peace, man" from playing the prior day with a neighbor child that just had "60s Day" at school.

I spent some time with her explaining that "V means Victory!!" and what the hand gesture was for. So,she spent much of the day flashing a victory sign and declaring what it was.

That evening was our niece's graduation. My daughter repeatedly made the V and proclaiming Victory. We were seated right behind our Republican senator (whose daughter was also graduating) and he thought it was great. He joined her several times. I ran into him in an airport trying to make a connection and he recognized me as the "guy who taught his daughter about victory".
