Time for the year's 3rd major championship(already)and the only one of the 4 that is not played on this side of the Atlantic.
This year's event takes us to the west coastline of Scotland, to Royal Turnberry Golf Club where I'm sure the weather will have a lot to do with who wins and who doesn't win.
So what storyline is going to be written this time.....
Can Padraig win for the 3rd year in a row? Is Tiger going to tie his buddy Roger and win his 15th Major? Can Greg Norman turn the fountain of youth on again, but keep it on Sunday too and shock the world? Or do even bigger underdogs, like John Daly or David Duval revisit past glory? Or do stars like Paul Casey, Sergio, Ernie, Anthony Kim or others get the big prize come Sunday night?
Who do you think will hold the Claret Jug come Sunday??
Early weather forecast for the weekend, intermittent rain showers with highs in the low 60's.
Tiger tees off at 4:09AM EDT(9:09AM BST)on Thursday.

In the words of that British announcer, those would be "blemishes"......

Yep, that’s something Peter Aliss might say a lot today. How many times has a golfer gone from the lead, or 2nd, and then miss the cut. I’m sure not often. Unless the cut gets to +6, Ben Curtis is going to be one...
you betcha
John Daly plays this weekend !
Yes he does!! And it looks like Tom Watson has steadied the ship after a rough start. Things are getting rough over there...
Sideways rain please!!!
Sir Nick, nice try but no.....
Same with Lucas Glover. I’m thinking he needs a couple of weeks off to recharge the batteries a little.
With that last double Tiger falls below the cut line. Could he miss the cut in a major for only the second time his entire pro career? Could be, with the way he’s swinging right now.
Three Americans (Marino, Calcavecchia, and Watson) atop the leaderboard.
Yea!! Watson just nailed a 60 footer for bird! Now -4, one back of the lead.
ANOTHER double for Tiger. Cut line at +3, Tiger at +7. With the conditions the way they are I expect the cut to be pushed back to +4.
INCREDIBLE!! Watson makes another 60+ footer for birdie, this time on 18 and for a share of the lead. Major time warp situation.
Cut pushed back to +4. Tiger has to play the final three holes at -3 to make the cut.
A 59-year old Watson coming back to play an even round (and capturing a share of the lead) after bogeying 5 out of the first 7 holes is one of the best things I’ve ever seen in golf.
Ok, Tiger birdied 16 and 17. One more to go to make the cut.
Par on 18. Now all Eldrick can do is hope the cut line drops to +5.
49-year old Calcavecchia alone in 2nd place; 59-year old Watson tied for first.
Giving us old guys hope!
Tiger’s on his way to the airport since the cut will end up no higher than +4.
The 70 Tom Watson shot today was one of the finest rounds of major championship golf I’ve ever seen. Any doubters? When he stepped on the 7th tee after his 5th straight bogey, TW could of mailed it in and gone quietly into the rain and fog.
Still wanna question it? If my math is right, that was a 31 Tom terrific fashioned on the back 9, including those two bombs on 17 and 18.
Awesome, simply awesome!!
Harkens back to Nicklaus' run at a 6th Masters title in '98. ...although Watson is in a better position after two rounds than Jack was. If Tom can somehow win his 6th Claret Jug, it would be the greatest moment in the history of golf. ...no exaggeration.
Oops, my bad. I stopped watching about a quarter to 12 and have been following on the net.
If by some act He does win this, JUST WOW!!! And your analysis is spot on too.
I wonder if a certain someone is in celebration mode cause a certain player missed the cut.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
