You are saying a transfer student, with a break in attendance at her previous school, or a new student if she didn't bother to tell U of W about her term at U of H, could start cold turkey and be in class in a couple of weeks?

In 1961? Seems doubtful absent some special circumstances, such as newly transferred in military.
