Yep, I find it very interesting that a person can get a pilots license at 12 years of age(at least that was used to be the cutoff age) but must be 16 to get a drivers license and, in some states, drive with an adult until they are 18. I will never lodge a protest however because the dems response would be to raise the age requirement for Pilots! They always get it backwards.

That’s not really true. A pilot may not fly solo until they are 16 years of age. The thing that many non-pilots fail to understand is that almost all aircraft have two sets of controls. A young pilot may actually do all of the flying, but the safety pilot is prepared to take control at any moment.
