I just have one piece of advice for you: don’t use OTC retinol/retinoic acid treatments. I used the L’Oreal treatments, and took before-and-after pictures because I wanted to keep track of all the improvement I was expecting. Just the opposite took place: my wrinkles worsened and the whole thing aged me discernably. I was furious.

I would strongly recommend you consult with a good dermatologist who does cosmetic work, or a plastic surgeon who offers laser treatments and skin care. There is really nothing they can put in a bottle that’s going to penetrate through all the dead layers of skin and fix what’s going on inside. But various chemical and laser options are available, as well as minimal plastic surgery (Botox, Juvederm, etc.) You will waste hundreds or thousands of bucks on stupid creams and lotions, but the same money put into a laser-zotting will fix things for years and years.

And stay out of the sun!!

I know what you mean. I actually have scars from using a dermatologist-recommended Retin-A. I called him after a week and told him that I was bleeding. He said that the “redness” would go away after a month or so and to “push through it”.

I pushed through another week. By the end of the week, I had huge open sores on my face.

Weirdly, that’s the part of my face that has no pores or wrinkles. Just get severely burned and you’ll look younger! Ug!
