My 79 year old Mother had a skin cancer removed from her face just a few months ago. It was right under her eye next to her nose. It required 20 stitches! The Plastic Surgeon told her to apply Vaseline for 6 weeks and to wash with Dove Soap for Sensitive Skin.
The cancer was basal cell which was OK for cancers but my Mom is a smoker so she didn't think she would ever leave the house again with this scar on her face..Fast forward..No scar!
The Doctor told her to keep using the Dove and Vaseline (She has always spent Thousands of Dollars on the latest beauty miracles) Her Doctor said women don't believe him when he tells them it is that easy.. wash your face with Dove and then apply Vaseline.. It works!
The incision was the size of a half dollar and very deep. Now it is like She never had any kind of surgery and her skin looks great! My Mom's only regret is that she did not find this Doctor sooner!
Well I’m just “clutching my pearls” and saying I can’t put Vaseline on my face! But my mother’s doctor (she’s 80) has told her to use Dove Soap for Sensitive Skin so there must be something to that.
I’ve heard of using Dawn for burn victims.
I had a teacher years ago who was badly burned in a car accident. He told a story about his wife finding out that the hospital charged $25 dollars a bottle for the stuff to clean his wounds and insisted on opening a new bottle every day. (And this was in the early 80’s!)
She went to the store, bought a case of it for less than 75 cents a bottle and insisted that they use that!
