“I once heard a smart man say that you canÂt reason someone out of something that they didnÂt reaso”
Your tag line is silly...hmmmmmmmpphhhhhhhh....
Where has evolution been taught as fact? If they have taught it as 'fact' or proven they are wrong. It is simply the best theory that we currently have.
But you did state, without qualification, that both of the theories were wrong.
In my view, God used evolution as part of His creation plan.
I don't suppose you have any biblical authority for that view, do you?
God said he did it in "six days." That may seem impossible, but couple that fact with this verse "With God, all things are possible." Mt 19:26
BTW, IIRC that's still the Motto of the State of Ohio.
'If'? Come up with a better theory, that fits the evidence. Or just falsify the theory, if you can't do that. It should be easy : )
Every PBS nature show and every National Geographic channel show I have ever seen.
You have NO “Biblical Authority” to claim that the Bible is the final authority or the only authority on matters of history or science.
NONE!
Also, I said, clearly, that it is possible to be a Christian and believe in the possibility of evolution.
I said, clearly, that the two views are NOT mutually exclusive.
Prefer 'faith' do you? The tag is directed towards people like you : )
Evolution is possible, with God.
“Do not put the Lord, your God, to the test” -—
That is what YOU are doing, when you claim that the Bible trumps science.
I hardly ever bother to post on these types of threads, but my own experiences in public education included many instances of teachers teaching evolution as a fact. Yes, the book calls it the theory of evolution...and when a student would bring that up, I saw several teachers scorn and ridicule the student for believing that evolution could be anything other than a fact. One teacher and one professor said almost identical words, about 8 years apart. They said, “Of course evolution is a fact. Don’t be ridiculous.” Evolution was taught as a fact every year since 7th grade. I kept my own mouth shut, never wanting to be the object of ridicule for not being a “believer.”
Or do you not believe that particular story?
Indeed, it very well could be possible.
But God wrote that he created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them in six days.
Do you believe that?
If you check the Bible, ANY version, there is more than one view or version as to what was written on those tablets.
The final meaning is, pretty much, the same, but the 10 Commandments are translated and understood in many various ways.
This simply goes to show you the effect of history and translation and antiquity on what we are reasonably able to pass down, from generation to generation.
The Bible is intended to teach us how to live, NOT as a history book or a science book.
“Prefer ‘faith’ do you? The tag is directed towards people like you”
Why, silly, is faith a bad thing? No, I prefer people who have a readable, understandable tagline...using english...or are you writing in tounges, silly?
One of Obama’s ancestors?
How long was a “day” before there was a “Heaven and an Earth”???
“Darwinism is a religion, evidence does not matter at all to them, only when it’s phony and proves what they want the truth to be”
Absolutely! Faith my friends, faith!
I wasn't there.
Funny, I don't recall even once, a teacher claiming that any scientific theory was a fact. I am sorry that you had such awful teachers. I do recall a teacher claiming that people had gone to the four corners of the earth : ) Ignorance is far too common.
Do you believe in Adam and Eve?
Do you believe in Noah and the Flood?
Do you believe in Sodom and Gomorrah?
If not, then how can you believe in Jesus?
“Ignorance is far too common.”
Yes. You are proof of that.
