It takes a certain type to retire in North Michigan. If you are an outdoorsman, have family there, don't mind the rough winter, lake effect snow, and mild summer, and don't mind driving 30-40 miles for shopping outside of a local Glenns, it's great.
I'll probably be retiring up by Traverse City.
