Stillwater Mining Co. of Columbus, Mont., is the only platinum and palladium producer in the country. It is highly dependent on sales to GM and Ford Motor Co., which use the metal in catalytic converters. Hmmmmmm. I thought with the "world is going to end" craze and everyone buying Gold and other precious metals, this mine would be humming!

The incompetent Government Motors is “green” now don’t you know. I’ve owned my last GM product.

Platinum is so outrageously scarce that it is approaching a point where it will be cheaper to fuse two lesser elements into platinum.
