As I understand it, protocol states that a woman should dress modestly, wear black and a veil, for a meeting with the Pope at the Vatican.
So it is. I just looked online and saw pictures of Laura Bush, Princess Di, and other women all wearing veils when meeting the Pope. Thanks for the info!
