Problem is, we and ROKs have alert platoons, in bunkers, ready at a moment's notice.
DPRK has divisions in alert positions. They attack in 90 seconds after big red button is pushed in Pongyang.
DPRK arty and other offensive indicators (such as bridge crossing equipment) are positioned forward, more than 200 AN-12 a/c are ready to insert suicide assassination squads deep in ROK, and our bunkers have been well sighted-in for the past 20 years. Every DPRK soldier has 5 days rations on his belt.
They are totally prepared to absorb our tac airstrikes, etc. Our reserve forces are in Texas and have to move to port of SF by train, then boat.... 39 day min.
Current intel is that DRRK takes ROK in 4 days, less if they use Slime.
If the big balloon goes up, our only resource, if we want to win, is NUC. Obama would never go NUC, and DPRK knows it. They, like many others, question if he really wants to win at all.
