McGregor's SpaceX competing with Alabama company for $150 million in funding

An explosive confrontation has shaped up between SpaceX, which tests rockets in McGregor, and a lawmaker in Alabama over who gets $150 million in federal stimulus money.

President Barack Obama wants to help private companies develop rockets that could haul people to the International Space Station. SpaceX believes it could fit the bill and wants a chunk of the money.

In a way I hope the Ares I tests fail spectacularly, and that they have to resort to using the Space-X rockets for Constellation.

Same here. There was an article I couldn’t post due to copyright violations saying that Buzz thinks NASA shouldn’t go to the Moon, but private industry should go to the moon... I happen to agree with him.. NASA should just explore, but private industry should do the rest..

We need to get rid of that silly UN treaty concerning property rights on the moon. That would go a long way towards encouraging colonization.

I hope both are a huge success.

My company is in the Aerospace & Defense business, and we provide quite a few components for both rockets.
