I agree. Most blogs cease to exist, or go dormant, because the blogger gets tired of posting or doesn’t have as much time to devote to it as they thought they would. There are plenty of readers out there, and the bloggers who stick with it and don’t take long breaks from posting continue to grow and steal readers from the MSM rags. I can see why the NYT would want to convince people that blogs are doomed to die out though. Poor dumb sobs. Haven’t they run out of assets to sell yet?
I blog because I don’t keep a hard copy journal anymore.
Someday, if DSL reaches teh wilderness where my parents live, they might be able to check out my blog.
So, it’s a way to remember the daily wackiness here and also keep in touch. Works for me.
