To the best of my knowledge, what kind of answer is that? Either he donated sperm or he didn’t, yes or no.
If he was the lone donor for insemination the answer is yes, if he didn’t the answer is no.
If the sperm were delivered in a mix of many men’s sperm, so the donor could not be easily identified, the appropriate answer would be “I could be”
Those poor kids will go through life asking are you my father?
Even sadder, the youngest one doesn’t even know who his mother is.

Maybe THEY weren’t interested in HIM. At the height of his popularity in the ‘80’s, I remember mostly white fans making a fuss over him. I remember hearing black people poke fun at him.
