It is called “work” for a reason.
I’m in a position which will likely go away in 6 to 18 months. Were the economy good I’d be out hunting, but there’s little out there, so I stay maintaining old equipment to keep things running until it’s all replaced by a new vendor. And I’ll just tough it out as long as I can.
The survivors A L W A Y S pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I dunno. Ever buy a rectal thermometer? And you see the little tag, “Inspected By Number 39”? Meet Number 39.
The worst part isn’t the cuts they are making, it’s that the management’s attitude has changed from merely obnoxious to near-Simon-LeGree evil. It’s bad enough that they’ve taken away any hope of a raise (our cost of living is done through the merit process.COL increases the scale, but its not realized till your eval/merit) but taking away our retirement match (which we got because we gave up retirement health care..how is THAT for reneging?) really bites, especially after last year’s losses. Can’t wait till it really gets jacked up when ZerO takes over health care.
