I don’t think skin is really “in” at these state visits. She just wears and does what she pleases (on our dime). To what extent it’s ignorance and to what extent it’s disdain toward whitey’s customs, I can only speculate. I feel so completely alienated from this family that I don’t even feel embarrassed by them - only angry and worried for my family and nation.
I agree. The dress is very pretty, just inappropriate for the occasion. I do so wish someone could get through to her and teach her to dress appropriatly so as not to keep embarrassing the country.
She may be on a step ahead of him coming down from the plane. In other photos of them on level ground, she is about as tall as he is.
Thank God this isn’t the Vatican yet. I certainly hope she doesn’t embarrass us by showing up hatless and bare shouldered.

She has on low heels, but she is about his height in them. Either it's the angle the picture was taken that makes her look so much taller, or it is Photo Shopped.

I also found interesting the pictures with the children at the orphanage. They seemed to show the most genuine smiles I think I've seen on MO's face to this day. To her credit, I think she does like children, and not just her own. Unfortunately, other people's children are going to pay dearly for the actions of this administration.

My take on MO is always: isn't there anyone in the WH to advise this woman on what is or is not appropriate to wear at whatever event she is attending?
The pic of her coming out of Westminster Abbey in London, wearing some frock that looked like she was going to some summer garden cookout with friends, shows how little she understands the history of the places she is visiting. But that, and the dress she has on in the above photo (although that one is simply very bright -- albeit still inappropriate) continue to show to me a real lack of understanding of her position as a representative of the United States, and a real lack of propriety of dress in relation to her position and the places she is visiting.

A giant crookneck squash ... the operant term for her variable disdain displayed in dress is ‘closet contempt’. MB is a bitter person, and bitterness corrodes the soul, resulting in fruit like closet contempt and bubbling anger.
