Mandy Sellars is your typical, single 34-year-old woman. She loves to go the movies, hang out with her friends, go out for lunch and have a good chat. But there is just one thing that sets Sellars apart: She suffers from a rare condition that has caused her legs to grow at an alarming rate.
When I was born, they knew straight away that there was something completely different about me, Sellars, who lives outside of Manchester, England, told FOXNews.com.
They actually didnt let my parents see me. They took me away from my mom and I think they kept me away from my parents, particularly my mom, for about 10 days or 14 days.

Saw a show on Discovery Health about her. She’s got a VERY rare condition. She is one of a handful of people on record thats got her particular malady. She came the the USA to see what, if anything could be done. The condition is irreversible. She also wanted to find out if amputation of both legs would help. She was told that that wouldn’t help her too much. There was also an issue about the larger than usual stums and how prosthetic limbs could be fitted. There again major problems arose because othe the size, weight, and fitting issues. She elected to not have the amputations so, as of the date of the show, she still has her problem. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. She has a he!! of an attitude though. She is one amazing woman. God bless her.
With the high-tech prosthetics out there now, I’d think amputation wouldn’t be a bad idea. Not at the hip necessarily, but maybe leaving part of the femur.
I saw a show on her on either TLC or Discovery Health. It was very good, she even came to the States to get help.
Take too long b’fore I found out
What people mean by down and out.
Spent my money, took my car,
Started tellin’ her friend she’ goin’ be a star.
I don’t know, but I’ve been told
A Big legged woman ain’t got no soul
The photographer could have used any other lens than a fish-eye? Or a better angle?
It’s already a TLC show— interesting. She’s “a trooper.”
Socialized medicine in the UK , is 61 years old this year.
Her legs aren’t that big, she’s just very far away.
The lady seems very well adjusted. Suddenly I have this ZZ Topp song in my head..
“It’s already happened. Came on right after Half Ton Dad....seriously.”

Yes, I saw it too. :)
Actually, I think she (or someone else with this problem) have already been on one of the Discovery channels.
have=has
Didn’t Popeye have similar malady?
I was doing OK until you posted, now I have the same ear worm. Thanks.
Why? We have a backwards, inaccessible, rich-only health care system here. The NHS couldn't handle it? How about Canada or Sweden?
(Where will people like this turn to when we become the UK, Canada, Sweden, etc.?)
I saw a special on this on TLC. She was considering amputation and getting prosthetics, but decided for now to keep her legs because they make her “her”
The platform shoes don’t compute.
You're welcome LOL.
One of her legs is longer than the other and one of her feet is twisted completely backward.
