I’m surprised that anyone’s paid that much attention to Allen in the last twenty years. I liked Bananas, Play It Again Sam, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, Sleeper and Annie Hall, but after that, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. None of the films has aged particularly well, either.
I liked his films also, until it becomes obvious that his satire was too closely associated with his actual convictions, (as manifest with his stepdaughter relations).
It isn’t funny anymore when his ironic associations in his black humor manifests his true heart.
