And how many libraries in HI have been consulted to make comparisons? Do you know of any, or is it just presumed? The newspapers when asked could not substantiate the purported image on the Internet. Do newspapers keep microfiche copies of their papers?

Anyone claiming that the birth listing is a fake should be the one checking libraries for other copies.
A microfiche or microfilm of the birth listings which doesn’t include Obama would be powerful evidence. There’s no point for anyone wanting to corroborate the birth listing to dig up another copy. The birthers would declare that a fake, too! The point is there would be multiple copies of the supposedly unaltered original which would have to be replaced. You would have to check main libraries for each state, main libraries in major cities, and major college and university libraries. A serious birther would tear himself away from his computer and the internet echo chamber and be doing some searching in the real world.

“BTW, images on micro are now stored on sheet negatives, not rolls.”

Not necessarily. Some prefer fiche (sheets) and some prefer rolls. As it happens, I have a recently-manufactured 35mm 100-ft. roll of unexposed microfilm stock sitting in my refrigerator.
