As a haze of confusion continues to permeate the circumstances surrounding the death of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, a bizarre report has surfaced.Per Ken Whitehouse of NashvillePost.com and the Nashville City Paper, McNair's murder was preceded by a warning that he would be killed.
Citing unnamed sources, Whitehouse reports that McNair was at the Blue Moon Restaurant near the John C. Tune Airport. A white woman in her early 20s approached McNair, accused him of slipping her a "roofie" a year ago, and said that her boyfriend was going to kill him.
As Whitehouse points out, "roofie" is short for Rohpynol, a potent sedative often used in date rape.
Whitehouse writes that the information has been shared with the Metro Police Department. If the threat indeed was made, it might turn out to be nothing other than a morbid coincidence.
