Oooooh yes, the “Showtime Lakers” of the 80s. Now, I admire Jordan, but Kobe and Magic will hang with anyone.

I would say that as competitors, Magic, Bird & MJ were all better than Kobe. Each was willing to do what was necessary to win, including changing their ‘game.’ Kobe is a multi-talented player and maybe just a hair’s breadth out of that tier.

What sticks in my craw about Kobe is the entire effort to ‘prove himself’ without Shaq. It was childish and really beneath him. I would also say that there is still time for Kobe to build on his legacy. The Lakers appear to be cementing their hold on the Western Conference. One day I may change my opinion on Kobe.
