I haven't heard much from or about him in years. Actually, due to the volume level we used to play his music, I haven't heard nearly as much of anything in years.

I’m not too much on him as a guitar player, but I like how he thinks.

An interesting story from the period right after 9/11 that should leave people with no doubt that he loves America and is willing to put himself on the line for that love.

He been parodied online after an audio recording was released of him 'releasing the f'n fury' on board an airliner and revealing what a total idiot he is

Fixed it for you.

Yngwie's playing is fast, precise, and rippin' ... but no *soul*, not even a hint, none ... sorry

Although his sentiment regarding America in this vid is spot on ... Thanks Yngwie :)

Happy Independence Day, America

Wow! He’s still alive! lol

I hadn’t heard any of his music since I was a kid. He was(is) an amazing guitarist, but his music is(was) a bit too ‘machine like’ for my taste.

"but no *soul*, not even a hint, none"

Yeah, that was my problem with his music. All technique, and little or no emotion.

"An interesting story from the period right after 9/11 that should leave people with no doubt that he loves America and is willing to put himself on the line for that love. "

That was an interesting read. It's too bad the author back-tracked a little. His initial reaction and instincts were correct.

Contrary to what is published in the media, the people in the world who hate America don't do so because of George Bush. They just hate America. And ,most of it comes from the emotion of resentment, which is the most powerful emotion, IMHO.

The world loves Barack Obama because they think he hates America as much as they do. From what I've seen so far, they're probably right.

I watched him on That Metal Show on VH1 Classic and his chops are still there but it was wanking to the highest degree. The guy has talent for sure but as far as top 10-20 guitarists ever? Nah. But I’d say his body of work can put him in the top 50.

Yea, I saw Yngwie play at a small venue in Columbus, Ohio while in my 20’s. The guy has the fastest fingers I've ever seen on guitar. Sadly the show ended up disappointing because the band was getting drunk and spent the last part of the show switching instruments.

But it is very interesting that business minded Europeans realize the greatness that inherently is our nation. I know a Dutch businessman who moved to Florida and loves it here and told me a few years back how his son went from an under achiever in the Netherlands to an over achiever here. Why? Because his son quickly realized if he worked hard and made lots of money he could actually keep it here.

The SOB Democrats are making sure the achievers will be properly penalized.

Yeah, he’s an incredible guitarist, isn’t he? I’ve got several of his CD’s & his work really blows me away. But then again, Sweden is a haven for great guitarists!

End of Part III: "So, yes, once again, God bless America. The most perfect country on the earth."

From a native Swede.

Yeah, that was my problem with his music. All technique, and little or no emotion.

Frank Zappa kinda summed it up years ago when he compared Jazz players to Blues players: (paraphrasing since I don't remember the exact quote) "Jazz guys play reams and reams of gnat notes in half a second, while Blues guys play one note and hold it out for hours while it goes squirm squirm squirm"

.... as only a Zappa could phrase it :)

Apparently Yngwie’s not a big fan of Lagom. (shock!)
