109 hours, 23 minutes, 38 seconds since liftoff:
Neil Armstrong: I'm at the foot of the ladder. The LM [lunar module] footpads are only depressed in the surface about one or two inches, although the surface appears to be very, very fine-grained as you get close to it.

My wife gave me the DVD box set of From The Earth to the Moon for Father's Day. Man, those Apollo guys were just awesome.

Appropriately enough, we watched this on the sole family TV set, a B&W, probably the old Crosley (remember those?). We switched stations at one point, coverage was slightly different on the three stations (that's all that was available in 1969, CBS, NBC, ABC, for you youngsters) and I remember how the network we were watching overlaid a caption, "FIRST LIVE PICTURES FROM THE ", with "MOON" blinking (for those using browsers which don't support BLINK). Then there was an hour or so while Neil and Buzz got ready for the EVA. Then the shadowy figure of Armstrong descending the barely visible ladder. What a great day that was. :') Still, it's kinda too bad that the "Good Luck, Mister Gorsky" story isn't true. ;')

A really fun movie is The Dish, about the crew operating the Australian relay for voice and TV. Trust me, you’ll enjoy it.

Cool, will check it out. I’m a big fan of Pat Warburton’s.

The only thing I’ve seen him in where he wasn’t great was the disastrous “Tick” live action TV show. Total train wreck.
