Hey..., I’m from both places (Pacific Northwest and Oklahoma)... so I know exactly what you mean.... :-)
Even some Okies don’t say Miami “right”... (but if you watch the weather on the local news, you can’t miss it...)
My mom thinks the funniest partof a year is when a newscaster comes from out of state and they can’t pronounce the words even remotely close. They sound like robots.
I give them a pass on Miami. Those Okies sure got funny ways ‘bout them.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area now but I love to drive and I think that light house was one of my weekend “let’s just see where this road takes me”.
I do it all the time. The country is more interesting when you discover it by accident.
