Do we know yet if this “Smart IC processor monitored Li-poly battery” of the Macbook Pro will allow you to run exclusively off ac power only once the internal non-removable battery dies?

That falls well into the realm of "duh".

Yeesh, man, if you hate Apple so much, why don't you just stay off Apple threads? Underwater basket weaving is considerably more productive...

I was being sarcastic as no one ever can predict the BS Apple will try. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if Apple tried to cripple the ability to run the laptop off AC power once the battery dies. I can see Apple implementing this BS strategy the first time the battery fails completely, and posting this message upon rebooting,

"Dear faithful Mac "Genius", your battery has been determined by the integrated Smart IC Apple iChip™ as being fully depleted. This is the first attempt to reboot with a drained battery. After the fifth attempt your Macbook will fail to boot.

Return this Macbook ASAP to your nearest GENIUS Bar™ and be prepared to wait 3 weeks and cost of replacement is $209 plus applicable taxes.

Please consider a purchase or upgrade with the new array of iPhones and iPods and iTVs at your nearest Apple Center. Thank you for your loyal support, it is good karma for you."
